My rules

By Marie McGuire
I am able now, I wasn’t able then
I had to follow the rules set forth for me
Some of those rules have lingered
and spring up in various situations
Those rules set forth by others
No longer apply
I visualize a goodbye box
and inside the box
I place these rules
Saying goodbye
You are no longer a part of who I am
I decide today and each day
the rules from divine guidance
that are best for me
