About the event
About Our Guests, Dr. Rachel Jimenez and Dr. Kim Corbin:
Dr.Rachel Jimenez an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Chair for Quality and Safety in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She holds an AB from Harvard University, an MD from Harvard Medical School, and completed her residency and chief residency training in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. She is also completing a Fellowship at HMS in Medical Ethics. Her clinical practice focuses on treatment of patients with breast cancer. She has special expertise in the use of proton radiation and the reduction of cardiac toxicity. She has also advanced the development of a tattoo-free treatment approach for women with breast cancer, the identification of biomarkers for breast cancer outcomes, and maximizing quality-of-life in survivors. The latter includes optimizing shoulder range of motion and outcomes after radiotherapy and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Kim Corbin works with radiation oncology at patients at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She completed her residency training for radiation oncology at the University of Chicago. She also won Teacher of the Year Radiation Oncology and the Minnesota Monthly Top Doctors Award: Radiation Oncology in 2021. She is currently a member of the executive committe of the Department of Radiation Oncology and the planning committe for the National Consortium of Breast Cancer.
